In early summer, I had the amazing opportunity to live on the ASU campus for two weeks with 28 people for the Summer Journalism Institute. We got to take classes from professionals in the business, tour news and radio stations, and produce our own website with our broadcasts and stories.
Our names were displayed across the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications.
We got to meet tons of people in the business but Al McCoy, the Phoenix Suns announcer, was one of my favorites.
The Walter Cronkite school had so many cool gadgets like microphones, a soundboard and a teleprompter.
Our tours included the Phoenix Fox 10 studio and the Phoenix CBS radio station. I just had to take a picture of Kimmie Caruba doing her thing.
Throughout this experience we were mentored by Anita Luera, ASU High School Programs Director.
Thanks to #SJI15 I know, for sure, what I want to do with my life.
